Adopt Dot

Shy girl who loves other animals

Dot is an adorable, one year old sweetie who doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. Dot loves other cats and dogs, and will need them in her new home. She is especially fond of her housemates, Blue and Lucky, in her foster home. Lucky wrestles with Dot and let’s her win. Dot used to let Blue knead her belly, when he was younger. She mothered him even though she has never been a mother. She can be adopted with Blue if you’re looking for a great pair of cats. Those who want to adopt Dot will have to be patient as she is shy, but Blue or other cats, can help increase her confidence around people.

Background

We trapped Dot in August, in the north end. We trapped her brother, Spot, a month prior. Almost identical in markings, she was four months old when we scooped her up. Dot was always more wary than her brother, but during the time she spent in boarding, became more trusting.

health

Spayed, tattooed, vaccinated and treated for internal/external parasites, Dot is ready for her permanent home. She is mainly on canned cat food, with dry food as treats. She has maintained her ideal weight on meal feedings. Dot has a tendency to overeat if you let her., so free-feeding dry food is not in her best interest. She uses softwood pellets for cat litter and is a very clean, and tidy, girl.

Socialization

Dot spent a lot of time in boarding before going to a foster home. Kenneling her for a vet visit is no problem as she likes being in carriers. A new environment, and routine, will be challenging for Dot. Change doesn’t come easy for her, but anyone would be happy to let her do things at her own pace. Dot doesn’t mind nail trims or being held for short periods. She will surprise you by curling up beside you, or on you, when she feels confident.

Dot loves playing with balls, wand toys, spring toys and just running around with her foster friends. She prefers the company of other animals to humans but when she’s feeling sassy, will roll over for tummy rubs. A bit of a tease, she may approach you for attention and then sprint away when you reach out to touch her. Her fur is incredibly soft and she has a tiny, high-pitched meow that is totally endearing.
